DR Byen station on the M1
DR Byen is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in Ørestad Nord, served by the M1. It opened in 2002 and sits in zones 1 / 3 of the regional fare system.
Trains here run alongside Amager Fælled, a wide natural area that keeps the district feeling open and airy. The broadcaster DR is based on Emil Holms Kanal, and DR Byen even has a postcode of its own, 0999 Copenhagen C. The station gives access to DR’s concert hall, while the IT University is a short distance away. Modern, urban and green at once, the district works almost like a small town inside the city.
On the M1, Islands Brygge is 2 minutes back down the line and Sundby is 2 minutes further on.
