Ørestad station on the M1
Ørestad is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in Ørestad, served by the M1. It opened in 2002 and sits in zone 3 of the regional fare system.
Ørestad and Field’s go hand in hand: the large shopping centre, packed with shops, sits right by the station. Around it has grown a new district of contemporary residential and office buildings, among them the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers hotel. Royal Arena, Copenhagen’s multi-purpose arena, is also a short walk away. Since opening in 2017 it has welcomed many internationally famous performers and staged major sporting events, including world championships in handball and ice hockey. For anyone interested in modern architecture, the streets of Ørestad make for a rewarding wander, as the whole district was planned and built from scratch.
On the M1, Bella Center is 2 minutes back down the line and Vestamager is 2 minutes further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
