Amager Strand station on the M2
Amager Strand is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in Amager Strand, served by the M2. It opened in 2007 and sits in zone 3 of the regional fare system.
Leaving the station, you find yourself in one of Amager’s older residential areas, where houses sit behind hedges and gardens. The sea and sand of Amager Strandpark are a short walk away, with plenty to do once you get there. Runners and rollerbladers use the paved path, and a diving centre operates at beach station 3. The lagoon’s shallow water suits small children, while further out it is common to see swimmers in wetsuits training more seriously.
Picnics and barbecues are popular on the lawns beside Amager Strandvej, and there is room for a game of beach volleyball too.
On the M2, Øresund is 1 minute back down the line and Femøren is 2 minutes further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
