København Syd station on the M4
København Syd is a Copenhagen Metro station below ground in Valby, at København Syd station, served by the M4. It opened in 2024 and sits in zone 2 of the regional fare system.
København Syd gives you plenty of ways to carry on your journey. It is an interchange where the M4 meets S-trains on lines A, E and F as well as regional and InterCity trains, and buses also call here. NEXT Sukkertoppen Gymnasium is close to the station, so during the day the area is full of students and activity. Turn the other way and things are just as busy: within a few minutes you can reach Valby Hallen, Hafnia-Hallen and Valby Vandkulturhus.
Valby Hallen is used for sport but also for trade fairs and concerts. Further on lies Valby Idrætspark, with big lawns, sports facilities and football pitches, and Valbyparken continues straight on from the sports grounds. Fancy a long stroll in the fresh air? The park offers playgrounds built around nature, themed gardens and paths with views across the water, in a setting made for a day outdoors.
Inside the station, the walls are lined in seven different shades of blue. Where one set of escalators ends, a giant astronomical clock by the artist Henrik Plenge Jakobsen is suspended. Striking in both scale and look, the clock also has a practical side: it tracks where a number of celestial bodies are positioned in the sky above the station right now.
On the M4, Mozarts Plads is 2 minutes back down the line.
This is the end of the M4. Trains reverse here, so you can always get a seat if you board at København Syd.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
