København Syd station on the M4

København Syd is a Copenhagen Metro station below ground in Valby, at København Syd station, served by the M4. It opened in 2024 and sits in zone 2 of the regional fare system.

When you get off at København Syd, you’ll find many options to continue your journey. København Syd will eventually become a major transport hub, with buses, regional and long-distance trains, S-trains and The Metro servicing the station. NEXT Sukkertoppen Gymnasium is located near the station, so the area is buzzing with young people and activity during the day. If you head in the other direction from the station, you’ll find even more activity as Hafnia-Hallen, Valby Vandkulturhus and Valby Hallen are just minutes away.

In addition to sports, Valby Hallen also hosts trade fairs and concerts, and if you go further, you’ll find Valby Idrætspark, which offers large grass areas, facilities and football pitches. If you’re in the mood for a long walk in the fresh air, Valbyparken is a direct extension of the sports facilities, where beautiful surroundings provide the setting for a day outdoors. Here you’ll find nature playgrounds, themed gardens and paths overlooking the water.

In the station, the walls are panelled in seven shades of blue, and at the end of one set of escalators hangs a huge astronomical clock designed by artist Henrik Plenge Jakobsen. The large clock is both impressive in size and expression, but it also has an interesting function as it shows the current position of a number of celestial bodies above the station.

On the M4, Mozarts Plads is 2 minutes back down the line.

This is the end of the M4. Trains reverse here, so you can always get a seat if you board at København Syd.

Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
