København H station on the M3
København H is a Copenhagen Metro station below ground in Vesterbro, by Central Station, served by the M3 and M4. It opened in 2019 and sits in zone 1 of the regional fare system.
Copenhagen Central Station The metro station is located right next to Copenhagen Central Station’s beautiful old terminal building, where IC, Regional and Øresund trains mix with S-trains. A pedestrian tunnel has been established and connects the existing station with the Metro station, making it easy to switch between The Metro and the other train platforms. Underground, the walls of the metro station are clad in red ceramic panels, similar to the walls at Nørrebro and Østerport.
The colour is a nod to the S-trains, which you can change to at these stations. From the metro station, it only takes a few minutes’ walk to reach major attractions such as Tivoli amusement park, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek or Rådhuspladsen, from where you can also stroll along Strøget. Close to the station you’ll also find one of Vesterbro’s main arteries, Istedgade, which gives life to a vibrant nightlife filled with bars and restaurants.
In the same area you’ll also find the popular food mecca, Kødbyen, where old industrial halls are now used as hip restaurants and dance-happy nightclubs.
On the M3, Enghave Plads is 1 minute back down the line and Rådhuspladsen is 1 minute further on.
København H is an interchange: the lines meet inside one station, so changing between them means walking across a platform or riding one escalator — there is nothing to tap again and nothing more to pay.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
