Lergravsparken station on the M2
Lergravsparken is a Copenhagen Metro station below ground in eastern Amager, served by the M2. It opened in 2002 and sits in zone 1 of the regional fare system.
For several years Lergravsparken was where the M2 ended; the final stretch onwards to Copenhagen Airport only opened in autumn 2007. The station shares its name with the park and with the large residential neighbourhood around it. Its entrance sits at one corner of the park, which has generous lawns and a staffed playground, and which has long been, and still is, a meeting point for a great many people living on Amager.
In earlier times the park had an ice rink in winter, a favourite with local children, and pupils from Sundpark school have used it particularly for sport.
On the M2, Amagerbro is 2 minutes back down the line and Øresund is 2 minutes further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
