Øresund station on the M2
Øresund is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in eastern Amager, served by the M2. It opened in 2007 and sits in zone 3 of the regional fare system.
About five kilometres from central Copenhagen, a 4.6-kilometre stretch of sand and sea opens up along the Amager coast. A walk of a few hundred metres from Øresund station brings you to Amager Strandpark, a large landscaped beach park; on a clear day the Swedish coast is visible from the shoreline. Helgoland, the rebuilt sea bathing centre, draws crowds in summer and is a favourite with the city’s winter bathers too.
On the M2, Lergravsparken is 2 minutes back down the line and Amager Strand is 1 minute further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
