Øresund station on the M2
Øresund is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in eastern Amager, served by the M2. It opened in 2007 and sits in zone 3 of the regional fare system.
Just five kilometres from the city centre, the capital’s largest beach unfolds with 4.6 kilometres of sand and water. From Øresund Station, it’s only a few hundred metres to the large landscaped Amager Strandpark, where you can see all the way to Sweden from the water’s edge. The rebuilt Helgoland Bathing Centre is especially popular in the summer months, but is also popular with Copenhagen’s winter swimmers.
On the M2, Lergravsparken is 2 minutes back down the line and Amager Strand is 1 minute further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
