Østerport station on the M3
Østerport is a Copenhagen Metro station below ground in Østerbro, served by the M3 and M4. It opened in 2019 and sits in zone 1 of the regional fare system.
, switch between The Metro and S-train The metro station is located at Oslo Plads, which is extremely close to the northern end of Østre Anlæg. The station is within a few minutes’ walk to beautiful Copenhagen locations such as the old fortress Kastellet or the yellow military housing neighbourhood Nyboder. If you take The Metro to Østerport, you’ll be greeted by red ceramic panels – just like in Nørrebro and Copenhagen Central Station – indicating that you can change to DSB’s trains and S-trains.
From the metro station stairs you can quickly reach the other modes of transport at Østerport station.
On the M3, Marmorkirken is 2 minutes back down the line and Trianglen is 1 minute further on.
Østerport is an interchange: the lines meet inside one station, so changing between them means walking across a platform or riding one escalator — there is nothing to tap again and nothing more to pay.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
