Østerport station on the M3
Østerport is a Copenhagen Metro station below ground in Østerbro, served by the M3 and M4. It opened in 2019 and sits in zone 1 of the regional fare system.
Østerport is a place to change between the metro and S-trains. The metro entrance is on Oslo Plads, right by the northern tip of Østre Anlæg, and a few minutes on foot bring you to Kastellet, the old fortress, or to the yellow military terraces of Nyboder. Arriving by metro, you are met by red ceramic wall panels, as at Nørrebro and København H, a sign that you can connect with DSB trains and the S-train network.
Stairs from the metro station give quick access to the other forms of transport at Østerport.
On the M3, Marmorkirken is about 3 minutes back down the line and Trianglen is about 1 minute further on.
Østerport is an interchange: the lines meet inside one station, so changing between them means walking across a platform or riding one escalator — there is nothing to tap again and nothing more to pay.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
