Femøren station on the M2
Femøren is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in Amager Strand, served by the M2. It opened in 2007 and sits in zone 3 of the regional fare system.
The station is named after one of the two green nature areas Femøren and Tiøren, which are used for summer concerts or if the circus is in town. On windy days, Femøren Station is a hit with surfers, as Amager Strandpark is only a few hundred metres away, where a surfing zone has been established around beach stations 4 and 5 for kite surfing and blokarts. Close to the station you’ll find Kastrup Fort, the remains of an old defence battery that today houses a restaurant and a playground.
On the M2, Amager Strand is 2 minutes back down the line and Kastrup is 2 minutes further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
