Femøren station on the M2
Femøren is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in Amager Strand, served by the M2. It opened in 2007 and sits in zone 3 of the regional fare system.
Femøren takes its name from one of two green areas, Femøren and Tiøren, which host summer concerts and the occasional visiting circus. Surfers like the station on windy days: the beach park at Amager Strandpark lies a few hundred metres away, and the stretch by beach stations 4 and 5 is set aside as a zone for kitesurfing and blokarts. Also nearby is Kastrup Fort, what remains of an old defensive battery, now home to a restaurant and a playground.
On the M2, Amager Strand is 2 minutes back down the line and Kastrup is 2 minutes further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
