Kastrup station on the M2
Kastrup is a Copenhagen Metro station on an elevated viaduct in Kastrup, Tårnby, served by the M2. It opened in 2007 and sits in zone 4 of the regional fare system.
Den Blå Planet, the National Aquarium of Denmark, opened in 2013 in a striking building on the shore of the Øresund. The walk from Kastrup station is roughly 600 metres, and a line of blue, wave-shaped benches guides you all the way to the entrance. Inside, thousands of animals from around the world live in seven million litres of salt water.
Puffins and hammerhead sharks are not the only draw nearby. A short way from the station, an old country house now serves as the Kastrup Farm Art Museum, displaying modern graphic art and contemporary works.
On the M2, Femøren is 2 minutes back down the line and Lufthavnen is 1 minute further on.
Trains call here 24 hours a day, every day of the year — every two minutes at rush hour, every three during the day and evening, and every 8 to 20 minutes overnight depending on the day of the week.
